This website provides information for adults, carers and providers of health and social care services living and working in Coventry.
It aims to make information and guidance about the Mental Capacity Act 2005, which applies in England and Wales, more accessible and easily understood by everyone involved.
The Act applies to everyone who works with or cares for a person (including a family member) who is over the age of 16, and who may lack ‘mental capacity’ to make specific decisions. The person may not be able to make a decision because they have a learning disability, mental health problem, brain injury, dementia or because they have had a stroke.
